FULL TIME DEPUTY SHERIFF 

Summary: This position requires thorough working knowledge of law enforcement procedures. The individual has daily contact with the public and is responsible for the preparation of reports. Responds to delegation of duties from the Lieutenant or Sergeant.

Eligibility: A high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a Peace Officers Certification through TCOLE. Must be able to meet TCOLE, and office requirements for psychological and medical examinations. Valid driver's license with good driving record. The individual should possess a thorough knowledge of enforcement procedures and practices.

Salary Range: Up to $27.42/hour


FULL TIME DETENTION OFFICER / JAILER 

Summary: The Detention Officer is primarily responsible for supervision on inmates within his/her assigned area, He/She will maintain order and security through fair and impartial application of the Burleson County Jail Policies and Procedures. He/She will maintain the highest level of security possible while ensuring safe and humane treatment of all inmates including the protection of their rights within the county jail. Reports to the Jail Administrator or Jail Lieutenant. 

Eligibility: High School diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years of age or older; Jailer Certifications from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or the ability to successfully complete a Certification course within 12 months of hire

Starting Salary $23.38/Hour

                                $25.78/Hour if EMT Certified


FULL TIME  DISPATCHER / 911 OPERATOR

Summary: This position requires a thorough working knowledge of dispatch and communications procedures. The individual will have daily contact with the public, operates radio equipment, dispatches 911 calls and maintains communications records. May assist the Dispatch Supervisor with validations and operation of all equipment related to the job. Works under the general supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor. 

Eligibility: High School diploma or equivalent and must be 18 years of age or older; Public Telecommunicators Certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) or the ability to successfully complete a Certification course within 12 months of hire

Starting Salary: $23.38/Hour
